The NJCS Wage Structure

Under the NJCS settlement signed in October 2021 (effective retrospectively from January 1, 2017), non-executives across Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP), IISCO Burnpur, and Salem Steel Plant receive:

  • Pay Grades S-1 to S-11: S-1 starting at ₹25,070 up to S-11 ending at ₹63,770.
  • Perks & Allowances (26.5%): Fixed at 26.50% of Basic Pay.
  • Hot Metal & Hazardous Zone Hardship Allowance: Operational staff posted at blast furnaces, steel melting shops, sinter plants, and coke ovens receive ₹2,000 monthly.
  • Canteen Allowance: ₹1,200 monthly subsidized food allowance.
